Terelj National Park is located 80km east of Ulaanbaatar. The national park is well known by its natural beauty, forested alpine mountains and interesting rock formation. The main highlights are Turtle Rock, Meditation Temple Ariyabal, and visiting local nomad family. The summer is the most pleasant time to visit Mongolia with an opportunity for hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing and flower and bird watching. The Turtle Rock is an interesting Rock formation looks like a Turtle. This giant rock formation is the main spot for visitors, where you can ride horse and camels. The mediation temple called Aryabal temple is situated 3km away from Turtle rock. The Buddhist monks perform meditation rituals for many years in the granite rock mountains for centuries. The other highlight of the trip is to visit nomadic family to experience how nomadic people live in the countryside and herd their livestock.

Day 1. Terelj National Park. The Blue Gobi Tours team will pick you up from your hotel at 9.00AM then we will drive to Terelj National Park which is 80km from Ulaanbaatar to the east. On the way, we will see ger districts in suburban area of Ulaanbaatar city and pass Nalaikh mining town, too see Kazakh cemetery. We will make a short stop on top the small mountain pass before we entering to the National park gate in order to see giant pile of stone called Ovoo, which was used for worship of religion. We will visit well known Turtle Rock, which is symbol of the National park, then continue to hike to the Aryanbal meditation temple, which sits on top of the mountain. We will have lunch at the tourist ger camp and check into our gers. Then you can explore the surrounding area and have a photo opportunity. In the late afternoon, we will visit local nomadic family to experience everyday life, exchanging conversation and tasting Mongolian dairy products. There is a great opportunity to do a horse back with members of local family. Overnight at the ger camp

Day 2. Chinggis Khaan’s Statue Complex – 13th century theme park. After breakfast we will have an hour drive to Genghis Khaan’s Statue Complex, which was built in 2006. The statue is 40m high equestrian statue which is surrounded by 36 columns representing 36 Mongolian Khaans. The entire statue is covered by 250 tons of steel. We will ascend to the exhibition hall using an elevator at the back of the horse and will walk to the horse’s head to have a good panoramic view from top of the statue, then we will visit museum in the background. After lunch we will drive the 13th Century park . This theme park displays real experiences for the tourists by genuinely providing true environment of the way of living. We will see King’s palace, herder’s camp, shaman’s camp, educational and craftsmen camp. We will see customs, ritual of worshiping of several kinds of Shaman clan, will have an opportunity to get know about the unique culture of the literacy, traditional way of educating their successors and enjoy seeing the craftsmen art work such as horse hold utensils, women’s ornaments, jewelry, arms and tools. We will drive back to Ulaanbaatar and transfer to hotel at 18.00
