CENTRAL MONGOLIA

The vast river valleys and great steppes of Central Mongolia are known as witness of Mongolian history and culture. The remains of ancient Uighur and Turkic empires are still found in Central Mongolia. The people live in central region are mostly Khalkha ethnics. The region is the main land of Mongolian Buddhism, there are endless opportunities for visiting Buddhist temples, nomadic culture sights and pristine natural wonders. The major attraction of the region is ancient Mongolian capital – Kharkhorin, which was chosen to be capital city of Great Mongolian Empire in 1220. Today, Erdenezuu monastery shows its glory with collections of many priceless religious objects and traditional Mongolian arts. It has a square wall, 420meters in length each side, 108 stupas and 18 surviving temples from the purge in 1937.
Khogno Khaan is a red rocky mountain which is 1969m long and 46000hectares natural reserve and located in area between Ulaanbaatar and Khakhorin. The ruins of Uvgun monastery are hidden in the valley of Khugnu Mountain. There is a place called Mongol els sand dunes, picturesque landscape of Gobi ecosystem where you can find two humped bacterian camel. Khosoo Tsaidam is a Turkic inscribed monument of Turkic state in 732. This worship complex was dedicated to Kul-tegin, a famous political leader of the East Turk Empire in the 7th century.
