Bogd Khan National Park is one of the oldest national parks in the world, protected since 1783.The main entrance to the National Park is 45 kilometers to the south west of the Ulaanbaatar city. In summers, meadows between woods are covered with a number of different types of flowers, most of which are popular edelweiss, producing colorful scenery. There are many hiking routes; the highest peak of Tsetsee Gun is one of the lovely routes by hikers. Manzshir Monastery is located in the luxuriant valley of the Bogd Khan Mountain National Park. It was established in 1733 with 20 temples and 300 monks. Destroyed in 1932, the only remaining temple has been restored and a museum at the site tells the story of the Monastery. The surrounding area is perfect for walking through green woods, meadows and mountain clear water streams.

Day 1. Terelj National Park. The Blue Gobi Tours team will pick you up from your hotel at 9.00AM then we will drive to Terelj National Park which is 80km from Ulaanbaatar to the east. On the way, we will see ger districts in suburban area of Ulaanbaatar city and pass Nalaikh mining town, too see Kazakh cemetery. We will make a short stop on top the small mountain pass before we entering to the National park gate in order to see giant pile of stone called Ovoo, which was used for worship of religion. We will visit well known Turtle Rock, which is symbol of the National park, then continue to hike to the Aryanbal meditation temple, which sits on top of the mountain. We will have lunch at the tourist ger camp and check into our gers. Then you can explore the surrounding area and have a photo opportunity. In the late afternoon, we will visit local nomadic family to experience everyday life, exchanging conversation and tasting Mongolian dairy products. There is a great opportunity to do a horse back with members of local family. Overnight at the ger camp.

Day 2.Manzushir monastery. After breakfast we will have an hour drive to Genghis Khaan’s Statue Complex, which was built in 2006. The statue is 40m high equestrian statue which is surrounded by 36 columns representing 36 Mongolian Khaans. The entire statue is covered by 250 tons of steel. We will ascend to the exhibition hall using an elevator at the back of the horse and will walk to the horse’s head to have a good panoramic view from top of the statue, then we will visit museum in the background. After lunch we will have 1.5 hours drive to Manzushir monastery which is located in front of the Bogd Khaan mountain. We will enjoy hiking, take photo and explore around sightseeing – including large boiling kettle, religious images carved in the rock. Drive back to Ulaanbaatar and transfer to hotel around 18.00PM
